In his speech by Mr Nitin Gadkari, he has openly told that the farmer cannot rely only on rice and wheat crops. He has suggested preparation of fuel from left over of crops and other raw materials like bamboos. On one side the farmer would get better earnings and our dependence on imports will reduce to that extent. Moreover, the pollution issue will also be addressed to a large extent. What is needed is a push by each MP / MLA etc in his/her area. This he said will bring prosperity to farmers and give a sense of satisfaction to the concerned MP / MLA more

It is shame to Us as well as Central & State Govt. that we r only trying to increase the finacial assistant or suggesting Taxes but never focussing on actual food preservation by setting up small, medium or large food processing unit, actually in all most all harvesting season 90% of food grains, raw vegitables are being dumped as waste due to poor management, even farmers are not getting their cost & again looking to Govt. & other agencies for financial assistance. What is the reason we are unable to set up model for prevention of wastage, if I m correct financial assistence provided by Govt. is almost double then the cost incurred in setting up small unit in small village, Medium unit in other village & large unit in each town, this will yield the result & benificials to Farmers as well as public/ Consumer, also help us in stablising the price. more

Why not take the lead in the matters! Meanwhile , agricultural income must be brought under the purview, and such income beyond a specified limit arrived at after taking into account the indifferent behaviour of the climate and spending the amount of tax so collected for upliftment of the small & marginal farmers as well as those heavily debt because of continued crop failures due to natural calamity, complete abolish of unauthorised money lending compelling the farmers to sell their produces to these lenders at throw away prices, construction of cold storage at each block, development of local mandi & market where the farmers could get reasonable and competitive prices of their produces, development/construction of roads and other infrastructures to enable the farmers to improve the farmers cultivating capacity and marketing of their produces in nearby city markets. Government should also ensure that all the agricultural produces are purchased by their agencies atleast at the minimum guaranteed prices. Prices of seeds, fertilisers & pesticides should be brought down to a reasonable level. Appropriate & adequate irrigation facility at all agricultural field is a is the need of the hour. Agriculture department officials should regularly supervise guide the farmers for improved farming. Moreover, agricultural activities are seasonal and a good amount of time is left with the agriculturists, during which they can be engaged in other miscellaneous jobs after giving required training. Government agencies should take responsibilities of marketing of the products and on going training. Similarly, cottage, tiny & small scale industries must be encouraged & established in every nook & corner and villages after imparting required training, developing necessary infrastructures, guarantee smooth & easy availability of raw materials and marketing of the finished goods. Make all rural people literate in real sense, impart them with training in different areas and make required capital available hassle free to establish their own units, which will employ themselves and many other rural unemployed. With such large work force, can't we create hubs in each area in each district and make ourselves a self dependent nation with no illiterate and unemployed? more
