OUR EATING HABITS

who is responsible ? children take junk food? for taste?to show that they are rich? to show that they are or their family is different from others, modern and educated?
so many questions arise from this.if family comprises of 4 members, every one has different choice for vegetables and pulses in dinner and lunch. obviously parents ARE RESPONSIBLE.?up to 40 yrs back, joint families culture was in india including uncles, aunt, tau, tayee .But today, small family? it means not parents , but only husband , wife and children.
we are using wheat, maida, left barley, jawar, chana ,udad, moong ,masoor, mustard oil, reetha for hair wash , shikakai,
and now asking govt to ban junk foods because of protein deficiency.children are given lot of money, debit cards for daily expenses. they cant think of future. they search medicines on google.
do we ask govt when we allow our children to take junk foods.
come back on old culture of timely eating, working ,pranayam or assans to strengthen body organs.early sleeping and early getting up. more

People have started realising the use of junk food. We should continue our culture and adopting foreign culture should be optional. more
It is for parents to show their children what is right and what is wrong and to instil in them a proper value system in life. After children become adults, you have no control over them! Neither I nor my adult son take junk food, though only once or twice a year, we may take cheese vegetarian pizza. But we have not taken pizza since March 2020. Nowadays, we are taking more of dosa, vada, idly! more
To root cause for junk food seems to be alarming increase in salaries/pensions. Everybody can afford outside food, bike, scooty and car. Even class IV employees/retirees are having sedan car at home. Children frequently order food over phone. My younger brother's children also used to order food over phone/online very frequently costing Rs.850/- per head. They claim that home made food is not tasty. 30-40 years back people were having low salaries and there was little room for any sort of luxury or show off. Resultantly, the Govt. had been jacking up taxes/cess at high speed to meet the ever increasing expenses of salaries/pensions/perks/security of members of Govt. machinery. more
almost everyone knows where the problem lies, but practically no one takes any action to rectify the malady. more
If you take a deep study of the matter. About 40-50 years back there were hardly any Hotel Culture. Most of the Food was prepared in Home only. Another is parents used to insist their kids that what ever has been made in kitchen, you have to eat every type of thing, may be some in small quantity. Basic root of the issue is most of the ladies were not doing out side job but were involved in kitchen and other house hold activities. Hence Junk Food culture was very minimum. more
