no calibration of machines. in market there are so many technicians / experts who set the machine for 50 gramor 20 gram according to shopkeepers demand. machine is set to weigh that quantity less as per setting and shopkeeper shows us 00.
it happens ,becz there is one way trading of weighing items and give to customers, always less, which we cant check,becz scale shows 00.
lacks of machines are in market .weights and measures dept is doing nothing for this,actually their capacity covers the population of 1950, when these deptts were made.
expansion according to need and population is never thought.
only auto mation can help, with sealed machines.
pathatic condition of market and system.
leaders are busy in coalition and chair.
if govt employees take action, market unions close the market. they know that one day loss , they will easily recover tomorrow and cheating practices will always remain a boon to them.

If the manpower is the problem for checking all the machines , can take the help of recognized and trained volunteer on payment per case. Say outsourcing? more

It is a large social issue - DISHONESTY for self gains has taken deep roots in our society. No Govt of a Govt official will be in a position to control it. Under the existing condition, the solution is vigilance by the customer. Check the weight at your end. If you repeatedly find less weight, take up the matter with shopkeeper or patronize other shop. more

In our good old " trazoo " we could check if the shopkeeper was " dandi maar ".... in these machines,this is outright cheating which we can neither guess nor check.......God help the customer....God help India.....! more
