Our media both electronic media as well as print media have been publicizing rather tarnishing image of country that India is suffering from the problems of rape and perhaps pretending the maximum rapes happening in India. Lets believe for a moment that India is really suffering from such crimes. But then why media is allowing vulgar advertisement of "manforce stay on condoms". Will it not promote ..............? Do the media discharging its own responsibilities? I have already requested Advertising Standards Council of India through a facebook post by tagging ASCI to look into the advertisement for considering ban of such vulgar advertisement of "Manforce Condoms". Members may like to appreciate the views that prevention is better than cure of course there is no cure as most of the cases now being reported are exaggerated and many cases being turned out to be fake. Lets not allow to spread vulgularity more

Most (not all) media has become very irresponsible. Above all they always act holier than thou. They preach everyone else but don't introspect. Even leading newspapers publish advt of escort services, prostitution in the name of massage at home & hotels, every day in their classified section. And then they have the cheek to protest when called presstitutes. They don't deserve to be called the fourth estate anymore. But beyond this lament, what is it that should & can be done to remedy this situation? Perhaps only the courts can show a way. more

Good Morning Mr SK Virmani sir - Ist of all, I salute U n your view on media’s responsibilities. We, Indians by and large want that our mothers, sisters and daughters must be “Safe” always on this earth. However, I admit that there are cases, where, truth is there. But Govt must take steps to punish maximum to the culprit. However, such issue not to be raised in the news media as it brings a wrong image of Bharat. Our Govt as well as news media must understand this issue seriously. Further, your point towards “condoms” advertisement in news media as well as print media. You are 100% right that media is not carrying out its duty as responsible agency. It’s a shame for us. One hand, we want to see our mothers, sisters and daughters “Safe” and other hand we are allowing vulgar advertisements where possible. It’s a wrong concept of Govt as well as media. If at all, the Govt wants the concept of imparting “Safe Sex Education” to all then the right path for it is “to enroll such issue in the syllabus of 10th class onwards but no advertisement to be made in news media & print media. I request all members to raise this issue seriously on all platforms, when and where possible. It’s a highly time demand that we must correct ourselves where needed to be corrected. There should not be monopoly policy of anyone on such matters related to “Honour of Bharat” “Image of Bharat”. We as a team need to stand united to solve this problem by showing honest attitude. If we intend to earn money for the agency then forget what we want to see (A Good Society, Progress &, Development of Bharat”). I quote – “Bachao Desh Ko – Sone Ki Chiriya Ko”. It is possible as we know very well that nothing is impossible. “Impossible means I make possible”. Let us work together in good spirit. Jai Hind !!! Jai Bharat !!! more
