Oxytocin

Oxytocin injections in many parts of India are being pumped directly into vegetables like bottle gourd, making them swell in size overnight. What would otherwise have taken a week to mature, is now ready to be shipped to the market overnight.

Is FSSAI aware of such practices. Do they just ignore them or have a strategy to counter them?? more

One more lie. Oxytocin does not mature vegetables. It is used only to increase milk output of animals. Please stop bluffing, it is no entertainment. more
I do not accept this lie. Because this chemical does not have any ability to do what you have said. Moreover, it is very costly to be used on any vegetables. You must first investigate about the truthfulness of this information. Please stop spreading rumors. more
We talk too much and action too little. Why not concerned agency takes strict action and this should be lesson to others also. more
As for Oxytocin its misuse is rampant in indicing let down of milk in cattle, more so in Buffaloes. BUT Researchers in the University of Helsinki’s Canine Mind research project found that oxytocin made dogs interested in smiling human faces. It also made them see angry faces as less threatening. Associated with affection and trust, the hormone Oxytocin is probably a key factor in the interaction between dogs and humans. more
you may open a kennel club sir and use freely that hormone and enjoy the company of dogs.
Best luck. such stray research papers and news are published every day more
injection oxytocin is banned in India but it is freely available. Please note that it cannot be manufactured by the injection manufacturer but in Himachal pradesh and Uttranchal, many manufacturers are manufacturing the same and selling in the market. Unfortunately it is a nexus between FOOD AND DRUG inspectors and manufacturers. more
Friends, there are number of govt actions on such use and it is banned also. but mainly the vegetabe growers are n remote areas and the govt machinery is so lethargic no actions are visible, particularly in the vegetables, fruits markets as well as milk suppliers from the villages atthe milk collection centers. Had the checking bee done at the milk collections centers by the milk processing dairies such problems could have been controlled to some extent. There is life rsk to those milk cnters workers or chemist also, if he rejects and reports such matters, who will save him. This is like the mafia leading the business for quick money. During last mangoseason n the city of Baroda, the municipal corporation commissioner's directive food inspectors raided many fruit vendors and all those mangoes which were ripend by the CALCIUM CARBIDE, THEFRUIT VENDORS PASSED ON THE BUCK ON FARMERS , SAYING THEY SUPPLY SUCH ARTIFICIALLYRIPENED FRUITS TO US, SO WHHAT AN WE DO? THE MATTER WAS HUSHED UP. So I don't see any solution about this in near future. Moreover, inspite of writng so many tims on these issues, I didn''t find any coments on our views and how many takers of such issues in this circle, the person also aie such issue and then goes behind the curtain, and no active participation from them, simply making others to rock. There are some immediate issues 1. who tehes all thse to farmers and the vendors howto use such chemical or hormones and how it works that is the scintist community , why can't they be booked, is there any law or regulation for it.e.g; we all know atomic veapons are mst dangerous stil all countries take pride in holding and developing it day in and day out.can we stop it? NO NO NO. SIMILARLY ALL THE DRUGS ,CHEMICALS, SO THE Main ation area should be on such research activities . Jai Hind more
Good point as mentioned by you, but do we ever catch hold of our elected MLAS, LOCAL COUNCIL CORPORATORS OUR MPS ON SUCH MATTER?
SIMPLY SAYING Govt should do this and that. My dear friend, the moment we say 'should' it never happens in the world, so forget who should do what, what we hould do is more importnat simply writig here will not help.

Thanks more
WHEN ALL BANNED ITEMS ARE AVAILABLE FREELY WHAT IS THE MEANING IN BANNING ? HOPE GOVT WOULD INITIATE STRINGENT MEASURES TO END THIS MENACE ON TOP PRIORITY more
