Selling water above MRP SHOULD NOT be permitted in restaurants/hotels.

Any packaged commodity with MRP already has inclusive of very good profit,so why should any place charge more than MRP.If the Govt.has made a foolish discion then all consumers and this Local circle should forward these comments to the concerned minister and even to the PM,i hope the order will be reversed if they care for citizens. more

Today's Poll of localcircle on Restaurants and Hotels be mandated to permit customers to carry their own Packed Drinking Water. THIS RESULTS NEGLECT BY ALL THE RESTAURANTS AND HOTELS TO STOP THE SUPPLY OF TREATED DRINKING WATER TO THE CUSTOMERS with the tips of law and Text of the Law that advises the Hotel customers for their own Drinking Water. Water is precious and scares too. Drinking water treated as per fssai shall be mandated for free supply in Hotels.

Sir, It is already mandated to supply drinkable water. The packaged water is to be supplied if demanded at cost. Unfortunately the courts have ruled that the restaurant is free to charge whatever it desires to. The only solution seems to be
1. Ask restaurant to supply only the normal drinkable water.
2. Avoid ordering packaged water. This way the restaurants will be deprived of even the normal profit built in the MRP. Even if you want packaged water with your dining, please trouble yourself with buying a bottle from the nearby shop and enjoy. To achieve something we have to compromise with our comforts at least for sometime so that let them also realise the ethics of business. It is undoubtedly if we do not stop unethicality of the business in the beginning, it will take uncontrollable proportion as is evident now from The Banking Industry.
3. It is always a good practice to carry the bottle with you if there is leftover water. Pls remember the water is a precious commodity and we have to save it also as a sustainable consumption commodity. more

The better way is to boycott consumption of packaged water in hotels & restaurants which does not give any extra benefits to the consumers' health. All these establishments have the RO system for drinking water which is as safe as the packaged water. more

In fact I feel that it should become mandatory to provide all diners a drinkable RO water without any charge absolutely at no price. Once the restaurants are mandated to provide drinkable RO water then only they be allowed to supply packaged water on chargeable basis at a price not more than MRP in any case. The diners are visiting not for water but for all consumables for which the service charges are already built in and the provisioning of drinkable water is the minimum associated courtsey. more

MRP means that a seller gets below that price which is called his profit, so why should anything be charged extra beyond that MRP,be it water,medicine,anything,hospitals charge for rooms,services rendered etc.so why charge more for the medicines TA Law should be made immediately to enforce such ruling on all establishments,hospitals,restaurants etc.and Local Circles should post a letter with list of recommendations to the Prime Minister who will definitely see and do something. more
