Pan Shops should also take FSSAI license

Paan, gutka and ciggerate shops in the country are selling all kinds of products over the table and under the table. like Padmini has described, paan is a low margin item for them, the real items are hookahs, drugs etc.

Why doesnt FSSAI make it mandatory for all those selling tobacco product to take a license from it just like restaurants.

99% of the Pan shops are run by poor people to earn their livelihood with small investments and getting a licence from the appropriate authority, like FSSAI, may not be possible for them. Further, where is the guarantee that after obtaining a licence, they will not engage in unlawful activities? Let the intelligence of the government keep them (pan shop keepers) & their activities under their surveillance. more
I agree with Atul Jauhari . The government should take action against Gutka manufacturers and ban their production. more
Yes, Ofcourse. When MLA's, MP's & Political leaders smear chuna with their false promises to electorate, why not give Paan Shop's the license to legally apply chuna to customers? more
I feel that Anamika has a very valid point in stating that " Pan walas should be brought under the purview of FSSAI. In fact, as many of the group members have stated - these pan walks are one of the chief "CONDUITS" for distributing drugs..!!.. more
There could be Lakhs of Paan Shops in the country but could only be handful of Paan Masala or gutka Manufacturers. So what is simpler? Controlling Paan Shops or Controlling Gutka manufacturers? But no action would be taken against those manufacturers because they hail from political lobby. more
I suggest,we control the manufacturers,than sellers. more
