Parking a Very Sensitive Issue in Delhi
Parking a Major Issue in Residential places:
Resolution of Parking issues in localities as there were constructions with No parking in the building resulting in cars outside the house which results in issues.
People are occupying the space outside their houses and not allowing others to Park even if the space is empty. As per them the space belongs to them (as if the space is purchased by them) but the space is of Government and MCD or other authorities are doing Nothing if a complaint is file.
Different means are opted to restrict others to do parking such as usage of Plant Pots, Guards who ask the people to remove their car or the owner come to fight by themselves and even call Ministers or Anti elements to support the fight.
People are parking cars on Roads in between roads, parallel to other car and so on thereby occupying the road resulting in restriction in movement of traffic.
You can find this at almost all the residential locations in Delhi such as West Patel Nagar and adjoining areas, Punjabi Bagh, Pitampura etc
I don't know if possible but Some policy that restrict people to buy the car if there is No parking space as well as confiscating the surplus existing cars if the owners do not have sufficient parking place (Please note that this should result in increase in issues as mentioned above) more

A very important issue has been raised about parking which is going to become worst in coming months and years. Last year at the time of first navratra there were new 15000 cars on road. There is a solution for this problem but one has to make strict rules and policy. Few suggestions are appended below; 1. No parking, no car: If a citizen of Delhi wants to keep a car, He/ she has to show the parking space. No car should be allowed to be parked outside the house. 2. If first point is not accepted then extra ramps resulted in encroachment should be demolished so as to widen the street or road. people make ramps on the drains as if that is their own space. The car parking space should be marked and one has to park in that specific area only. That too after considering the available space for traffic. The three side open plot owners often encroach the front portion with plants and pots as if it is there land. Moreover there is a fashion of making extra high ramps which often results in water logging and disruption in water flow towards small drains and park the cars on it. 3. The corner of roads should be marked for no parking. more

May be implementing a mechanised double level parking system in markets and crowded areas till the time proper parking arrangements are made may be a relief for the time being more
