Passenger Comfort
While we travel we see many passengers travel with huge luggage, I feel that we should make some arrangement at the Selected Railway Station where we hand over our luggage to Railway authority and collect at the end destination from Railway authority (just as we do at Airport - like check in luggage), at least we can start with selected trains like Shatbadi or Rajdhani etc., more

There is a limit to the weight of luggage per ticket, but it is monitored very rarely. I have not seen any one being charged in the past 15 years of my travel for excess baggage on the train, which was the case earlier till the late nineties more

Many people are not aware that in late nineties people were not allowed to carry heavy luggage into the coaches of Bombay rajdhani and they can handover to brake van,take receipt and collect at destination. This was also followed in Himalayan Queen etc.and coolies were not allowed to enter coaches. But like any good practice this was dropped after some years. If only railways stick to any system ...! more

Like airlines the tariffs could be thought of. Fare reduction with single hand baggage needs to be encouraged. more
