Passenger safety in cars - new rules coming

Govt has announced a slew of measures to improve passenger safety in cars:
- Addtional 4 airbags (total 6)
- Three-point seat belt for front-facing rear seats
- Bharat N-CAP safety regulations
- Advance emergency safety system

We should discuss and give inputs on what else is a must. But the Govt must also note, they can add all this but dare not increase prices for consumers. Which means they must reduce taxes and duties they charge and keep end user price same.

LocalCircles please escalate this to decision makers. more

You expect more and more safety features and the government to ensure to keep the present prices undisturbed by reducing taxes! Isn't it funny? Secondly, what is the use to seek more and more safety features in a car when our people are reluctant in using the presently available features ? more
The author of this post think that automobile manufacturing industry is like the "Darshini" next door where, sambhar and chatni are free. Just two idlis, and keep asking for more and more of the free side dish till the "management" decide to add H2O to what is left. The low end car costs between 5 to 6 lakhs. If one can afford to buy that, pay for additional safety features. They are not being asked to enhance the beauty, or comfort but for safety. Then as I am aware that the safest place is home. Venture out on the road with insane people are given driving license. more
Our only demand across is to reduce prices, taxes etc and freebies. If so, how government can run for basic needs to be provided to the people. Of course, due to corrupt practices by the netas and bureaucrats plays major role in draining the exchequer. Be it a agriculturists or any common man depending upon the income generated, must contribute to their welfare and the government must be sincere and honest to implement its policies and programs for the same cause. Then nation will prosper and so its ciitizens. more
First, the RTO,from states and the police are so corrupt,in any state, the tendency is to blame even the good commutor.2.The Licences are never issued/no online issue by RTO.You can try any where in the country. If you ask they will quote about unauthorised and childeren causing accidents. Horns should be modified.2.The system of licence, should be in typical systems more
Manuel Aaron: When the tendency is to increase prices at the least pretext, it isnt logical to expect the powers that be to let go the chance to increase the price in a segment of the automobile industry which we view as a luxury factor. We should be happy if the petroleum prices do not start resume galloping the moment the last phase of the 5-State Elections are over! more
