Pedestrian Walkways for Pedestrians.

Dear Folks,

This is really very strange that there is no respect for Pedestrians in India, specially in a metropolis and national capital like Delhi. Our fellow pedestrians have to risk their lives every day as Pedestrian walkways are either blocked by cars as parking place or by Dogs. It makes life very difficult to walk with freedom in Delhi. There are pedestrian walkways but you cannot walk on them as most of them have turned into Car Parking area or rooms for security guards.

Hope this can be taken care by the RWAs and Govt. by creating multistoreyed parking lots before building houses. Similarly, cars should be sold if the buyer has a valid Parking place in Delhi.

Please share your views and if our party can do some good here. more

I endorse the views of Sh.Sibasis. At, Saket M-block, there are two schools on either side of the road - one Amity Intl School and another is Sarvodaya School besides the Mother Dairy Vegetable Booth. Even then all the footpath on both sides of the road have been grabbed by the parking-mafia. As a result, the children, ladies and the residents have to walk on the road endangering their life particularly in view of the Call Centre Vehicles also plying on the same road too fast. Atleast the footpath around schools and Mother Dairy Booths be spared from the parking lots. more

All old vehicles (cars, scooters, trucks etc.) which are standing rotting for a long time should be scrapped with the help of owners (by selling them as scrap and earning some money for owners) and towed away to scrap markets like Mayapuri, etc. to be sold to steel mills etc. to be melted. This should be widely publicized and given time limit (after which the authorities themselves should tow away old, rusting vehicles). The procedure for scrapping vehicles and cancellation of registration should be simplified and made hassle free, which will encourage old vehicle owners to get rid of their 15-20 year vehicles by selling in scrap and cancel registration. This will free lot of space and give raw material for steel mills and foundries, reducing import of scrap for iron and steel industry. more
yeah,Sibasis, But unfortunately many of your party members have made it their habitat too. To start with:- - Allow purchase/regn of a car only if the person has got a parking. - Make parking a prerequisite bforew approving a building plan. - Tow away all cars parked on footpath/ public road through the night, including service roads in front of the houses. Alternatively collect a Aam Aadmi parking fee of Rs 200/ per night and spend this for welfare /development. This act alone will reduce pollution, traffic and fill govt coffers. - Also maintain the footpaths clean as in Cantt,by making the conservancy accountable. - Ban use of govt veh for wives/kids and even dogs. Prohibit their use in Shcools/colleges/market places.Give power to Aam aadmi to stop such a vehicle being misused and question the unauthorised occupant. Take action/ penalise officials who misuse it. - Encourage people to use footpaths for walking by making these attractive/broadcasting good music etc. more
