Permit home isolation for covid 19 in Noida
1) Noida is less densely populated than Delhi
With less populated areas, Noida administration should give an option of home isolation instead of blindly following one umbrella rule for entire Uttar Pradesh. More than half of Noida's population live in housing societies. Only those who don`t fulfill the basic requirement of one room with a bathroom attached can opt for institutional quarantine.
2) Noida has less private facilities than Delhi
With my personal experience now, I can say how difficult it is to get a bed in private hospital/quarantine facilities if one doesn’t intend to go for government's institutional quarantine. This all gives more reasons to relax this rule for patients with mild symptoms and have facilities and care at home. Home isolation would have been the best option. With the number of rising patients and less beds at private hospitals, one can get the best treatment at home.
3) Occupying bed facilities and infrastructure
Even if you get the bed in private facility for mild symptomatic patients, then you end up lodging in a place which could have been used for some more serious patient.
4) Expensive hospital treatment
Private hospitals are not cheap either. Many hospitals are charging over 3.5 lakhs plus other expenditure and taxes for 7-14 days facility at Noida for accommodating mild and moderate Corona patients. Plus, you are not alone in the boat, you have got a family to look after and need to prepare a contingency plan since vaccine and drugs are away. With home isolation safely, one can save money for any hard time. When it comes to life, it doesn`t take time to escalate the hospital bills.
5) Covid is a tricky mind game
Yes, you got it right. It`s all here in your small head. Fear sycosis, paranoia. Your mind plays with your emotions when you are alone and especially in hospital/quarantine centre where you witness/breathe the same atmospheric air. Talking to your family helps but you can not chat with them the whole day. When you are ill you need your family to console, and this disease takes a toll on the same connection. I remember I was so scared for the first two days that I could not sleep in the hospital. Being a mild symptomatic Corona patient, I would have recuperated better at home, where I can hear them out and feel safe while fighting with the disease.
6) Home isolation not so difficult for mild and moderate symptoms
Now it requires fice important things for this. Most important is a doctor on call, followed by Corona medicines, complete physical isolation, oximeter for oxygen saturation check (should not go below 94), thermometer and BP (blood pressure) measuring machines and immunity boosters. You need to ensure that you clean your room regularly, sanitise all surfaces, and wash your laundry and utensils to avoid the exposure to your caregivers. And, precautionary medicine for your family. But the entire decision is yours to assess if your family will be safe with you or not. That is why a choice should be given to individuals living in Noida. more
