Petition to ban the gutka
I just came across this petition on banning of gutka in the circle. Do note everyone that Maharashtra Govt has made selling of gutka non bailable offence.

I believe Selling GUTKA is banned in all the States as also many other thing like thin polythene. But what is the state of affairs? Every where polythene carry bags are given by the shop keepers and shoppers gladly take them because it is easy to carry home purchases. Making laws do not automatically solve a problem. Manufacturing and selling of 'Gutkha', a mixture of rotten betel-nut, tobacco, limestone powder & catechu powder had been totally banned in majority of our states about 3/4 years back. However, manufacturing & selling of gutkha without tobacco & in the name of 'pan masala' is continued and the gutkha addicted people consume this masala by mixing tobacco available in separate pouches. No move has been made by the governments as yet to ban these products. more
