Pf inspection for the records

What is time limit in pf act for retaining record for pf inspection if there is no violation of the act more

Once the records are verified by PF Enforcement Dept., and signed in PF Inspection register, Normally, no other officer will verify the previous records Provided no evidence is available to PFO for violation of PF act by the company. In case of exemption is claimed under EDLI or from PF act, then for each block of 3 years the PF Inspector will visit the company and verify the records and books etc and sign in the inspection register. Regarding maintenance of books 7 years to 9 years as applicable under different acts the books are to be retained by the company. more

Basic books of accounts are required to be preserved for 10 years and subsidiary records for 7 years as per various acts like Co.act, IT act etc. As such this limit is generally applicable irrespective of particular act. However, PF act may be spefically referred to if required. more
