PF Pension Stopped for want of bio-metric

Dear knowledgeable Readers, i am a pension drawer for the past one year from Mangaluru, Karnataka. suddenly the pension has stopped since January 2018. The reason on approaching the local PF Office is being given as that, one has to do bio-metric verification. Feb 25, 2018 is the last date for doing the same. Dear readers, there is no such notification anywhere, neither in leading newspapers nor TV announcements nor any email messages nor any SMs messages. How are people to know about this? Surprisingly there no information about this on LocalCircles too.

Dear readers, could anyone of you please guide me about the documents to be taken for ppf bio-metric verification? Like Aadhaar card, Bank Passbook, ppf account number issued by the bank, your registered mobile no. with ppf, (required for (OTP)) etc?

The second point to note is that the bio-metric verification is done by UIDAI. That means the scanned iris and fingerprints are verified by UIDAI. Then why this Verification at the PF office or Mobile Operators? Is it not duplication of work? When Aadhaar is unique why bio-metric verification for everything? just load in Aadhaar and verify. the job is over. Similarly the mobile service providers verify our finger prints with UIDAI? The Government seems to be confused as far as verification is concerned. The authorities have not understood the uniqueness of Aadhaar and Mr. Nilekeni does know how to explain it to the authorities.

The third point to note is that on the UIDAI site they have posted a Message - "No services can be denied for want of Aadhaar". but as you can see in my case, I am denied of my pension in spite of my having Aadhaar and having submitted to PF office, Bank, Food and Civil supplies and other Government bodies. Can some one guide me through this vine of confusion? more

Dear Murthy , Better act as you have come to know reasoning of stoppage > please visit your bank with your PPO copy or Number at least and Aadhar card and request them to submit LIFE CERTIFICATE thru Jeevanpraman and START earning your pension sss 290930/Apr18 more
I do not understand why EPFO should stop pension arbitrarily? They would have send mail or by post or by SMS to individuals well in advance when ever such requirement is needed as they have all details of phone nos, mail ids, permanent address etc. Besides, recently most of us given 'Jeevan pramaan patra' issued by Bank authorities which had been given after biometric verification.Again why they should need within 3 months. Is it not harassing? more
Even I did not know about these formalities. There is no communication from the Pension authority. My pension was stopped in December, 2017. On inquiring, I was told that I have to get the Bio- metrics done and will have to go to the bank from where the pension is generated. I went there, did all the formalities, gave Aadhar card, my pension order. My picture was taken again and a did the bio-metric too and gave me a stamped receipt with my picture. I was informed that I will get December's pension along with January. However, to my surprise, till date , I have not received my pension. on inquiring with my relation ship manager , I was told that it has been rejected by the pension authority or it could not be up-loaded and I will have again go there and do the physical verification. However, to my surprised, so far no one ever informed me about the formalities. Ideally in such cases, bank should have called me and informed. otherwise a mail could have been dropped or an SMS could have been sent. But they are least bothered. more

Dear Ravinder Murthy, Approach Pension Section or Counter of SBI, nearest branch or main office in your city, with Aadhar Card - original & Xerox copy, FPO, ID proof, Pension Pass Book (updated).  Officer there will do Aadhar linking to FPF A/c. and also biometric "Jeevan Praman Patra", i.e. life certificate.  Pension will be paid by next month, including arrears.  No follow up will be required at pension office.  SBI will need your PPO (Pension Payment Order No.).  Take the original + Xerox of PPO also.  For linking, PPO No. will be required by Officer.  Staff and officers are very helpful, cooperative and responsive.  Your Mobile will also be required, as OTP generated will come to your mobile, which will have to be informed to Officer.  This is the procedure for pvt. sector employees.  Procedure may be or will be different for Central govt. and State govt. and PSU employees.  You will have to check out at SBI and follow as advised by SBI's Officer.  It is a matter of 5 minutes, but will depend on power supply, internet connectivity and online systems working at SBI and Pension Office. Best of luck and best wishes. On Thursday, February 15, 2018 11:54 PM, Ravinder Murthy wrote: more
I appreciate Mr. Shreedhar Bhat's detailed reply. It may be better to go to the respective pension office, instead of bank with all supporting documents and your mobile. more
