PF Pension

I was working since 1970 to 1992 contirbuting to my
PF a/c. through various employers and also opted for pension. However, I got my full settlement after
Voluntary retirement and got full settlement (at the age of 42). However, I forgot about pension. Now,
anyone can guide me how to find out my eligibilty
for pension more

In my opinion that U had paid the contribution in family pension so U should contact to PF commissioner. more
Firstly you were not a member of EPS-95 because the scheme was introduced w.e.f 16.11.1995. Prior to EPS scheme FPS scheme was in vogue which a family of member is eligible for pension when the member dies in service. Since you were not a member of EPS-95, there is no question of your getting pension under EPS-95 more
What Mr Virmani has told is correct. You were in employment upto 1992 only and during that time there was Family Pension Scheme, which devolved pension to the family members upon death in service. The present Employee's Pension Scheme was introduced in November 1995 only and there was no retrospective effect. more
Basically pension is given out of corpus funds created from a portion of your PF. Since you have fully withdrawn PF, you are not eligible for pension. In some cases eg banks, people submit back an amount as prescribed eg 10 to 15lakhs to bank to get a life time pension. I would suggest go for long time fixed deposits with reputed banks institutions . instead of focussing on interest focus reliability. Arrange FDs so that they mature in month intervels. more
Mr.Virani is correct. the scheme was effective in November 1995 . more
