plenty of dogs
There are plenty of dogs both stray and Pet in Sector 17, Gurgaon. These dogs defecate on the streets and roads and most of the times right in front of the entrances of the houses. The same is spread all around by the vehicles or some times even by the unaware morning time walkers. In view of this it has become really difficult to go out.
Though there is absolutely no control on stray dogs and it is only upto the Municipal Corporation Gurgaon to catch them. Such action will reduce the nuisance to large extent.
However, it is surprising to note that even the pets are taken out by the owners and such dogs also defecate right on the roads/ streets and in front of the gates, thereby creating mess all around. When objected to such acts the persons accompanying the dogs start fighting with the complainant.
Can some thing be done about this by the concerned department/ agency. more

This is very true, what is a normal practice in most countries is totally ignored in our own country. But I was pleasantly surprised, when I visited a friend in Parsavnath Exotica.. they have sandpits that are clearly marked out for Dog Pooh. I think they are cleaned by the maintenance staff but at least it is a beginning. This is a very doable solution and most High-rises can do it without too much of an effort. Apart from dogs there are countless PIGS roaming freely which are a great health hazard. Will the authorities do something about this if there is really aim for Swach Bharat more

The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) is supposed to have provided necessary infrastructure / space to the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) to sterilize stray dogs in the city in 2014. Government of India has given the board Rs 30 crores to implement the programme across Haryana. I am not aware of the current status. So far as the pet dogs go, unless India enacts the same laws as most other countries which require an owner to collect such mess and dispose it at home, I do not think much can be done about this issue. more
