Pls enforce rules on Firstcry like Myntra
This circle was instrumental in getting myntra to stop charging gst above discounted mrp. Took 2 years but was fixed. Please see attached. Firstcry continues this malpractice. Gst levied on a discounted mrp. Must stop. more

There is nothing called Discounted MRP. There is only MRP. how much discount a retailer offers to consumer is the retailer's choice. gst IS LEVIED ON PRE TAX VALUE. if price before tax is discounted it does not necessarily mean GST is discounted too. it is the wish of the retailer. GST is a statutory payment. Nobody can discount it. it needs to be deposited to Govt. The question remains who shall bear the burden. the consumer or the retailer. If retailer takes the burden you effectively get a better bargain. But there is nothing in law as discounted MRP and therefore you cannot enforce a retailer to bear the burden of GST. if the retailer is in a hurry to clear stocks or as part of marketing strategy, the retailer may choose to bear the burden. more

Firstcry should immediately stop this short of exploiting to the consumers immediately or else the Govt should impose penalty and take necessary actions as per law to protect consumer rights and interest. more

unless hefty fines are imposed on e commerce portals because of the rules here they continue this unless someone brings it to the notice of the authorities since they know that they can escape till that time the authorities catch up with them.Self discipline and good business ethics very few do and always try to find a loophole.Govt laws should be strict with imprisonment and hefty fines which will deter those not following will think twice of doing malpractice. more
