Swachh Bharat Mission

Policy Changes for Swachh Bharat

1. Companies could be asked to buy back the empty plastic bottles in exchange for some discounts on the next purchase
2. Public urination should be made an offence and people should actually be fined for it
3. Only paper packaging should be used for clothes
4. Entrepreneurs wanting to start recycling units should be given major sops
5. The plastic pouch size packing of gutkhas should be banned and they should only be available in wholesale paper bags
6. Polythene bag manufacturing must be banned countrywide without any exception
7. Government should support and give subsidy on Jute Bags. This way, the public will get a good and durable option for plastic bags
8. All industries/corporates /offices should be asked to maintain the cleanliness of the area in front of their premises
9. System of recycling and disposition of waste policy should be well defined
10. Milk packaging could be done in glass bottles like in olden days
11. In Religious places, the usage of plastic plates or disposable tumblers should be banned and instead natural biodegradable items like palm plates , banana leaves, mud pots etc. should be used for serving food or drinks to pilgrims and general public
12. Additional cess could be applied on products using non-biodegradable packaging
13. Leadership of every municipality receiving Swachh Bharat funds must be mandatorily required to connect with citizens. more

Contact me on sensudip@hotmail.com for pre fab portable bio toilets which convert human to neutral water, without any need for septic tanks, sewer lines or sludge removal more
There should be law to punish the defaulters and govt/ Municipal officials who allow pollution ruthlessly. They are to be fined heavily and dismissed from service without any terminal benefits. more
Very frustrated statement. I agree. But difficult to implement. more
Municipality is a Basic institution for a success of Swachh Bharat. Empower them. There is need to restructure Municipality with greater transparency in working, explicit accountability and close motoring of its operation. There should be clear cut national policy and a systematic design of various parts of Swachh Bharat. more
Its basic duty of all citizens more
Every Indian citizen should understand this neatness and hygiene in public place and their contribution is needed for success. Simply an organisation alone cannot do this job. more
There should be receptors for cigarette ends at the entrance of shopping malls, cinemas and where there big gatherings of people. more
I feel that Suggestion no.2 is awful. Instead Govt. should ensure that toilets that are clean & hygienic are made available in places frequented by general public. Suggestion no. 6 is good & need be implemented forth with. more
