Pollution not going away
I was reading somewhere that the pollution may come one year never to go away.
That seems to be the case. Visiting a friend in Noida right now and couldnt help but write.
PM 2.5 on her app is showing 840 and PM 10.0 is over 1100.
Her mother is having arthritirs aggravated because of pollution.
One would have thought Noida Gurgaon would be better than Delhi. Not so. more

Its not about Noida or Gurgaon. Its about the Indian mind-set. We just don't give a damn to anything as long as our own narrow personal agendas are being served. This proves that (a) democracy will never work for us and we're incapable of governing ourselves (b) civic consciousness is an alien concept to us....it needs to be ingrained forcefully. Time to leave NCR ! Go where else you can find your life in a cleaner environment :-) !!! Nobody's going to succeed in leading a revolution here ....hahahahaha more

Well Shivani..do you think this pollution is caused by Bikes, cars & taxis..no it is not so..The Pollution is caused by the trucks that enter the city at night but no fingers are raised towards them bcz they grease the palm of the cops which goes up the ladder & shared. I have been observing the enforcement team nabbing vehicles at as early as at 04:00am in the morning, how committed they are, they don't miss a single truck pass without getting caught, but it is not for the sake of public health, but, for the sake of money they have to accumulate and share. Once these trucks have paid..they are free for the entire day 7 no one catches them again for they have a code given to get through. ! more

To my knowledge, the biggest contributors of air pollution are construction activity and road dust. Places like NOIDA and Gurgaon have a lot of construction activity. Also the general sweeping and cleaning in the city generates a lot of dust. After this you have industrial units spewing smoke, as also diesel generators doing the same. The crop residue burning is another big contributor with a seasonal regularity. Then you have vehicular pollution - especially from trucks and large vehicles. When you have all these ingredients, the only catalyst that is required is the lack of wind speed to serve up a cocktail of pollution with catastrophic results. The solution has to come from a multi-pronged action plan that attacks each of these, particularly ones which government agencies can control and influence. more

Left over stubbles after Rice, Wheat harvest, as well as straws which are post harvest residues amount to more than 64 Million Tonnes, annually from Rabi and Kharif Harvests, as per Biomass Resource Atlas of India, a primary survey conducted more than a decade ago by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt of India. A technology was validated at Panjab University, Chandigarh which enables extraction of 300 litres of ethanol from the straws of rice and/or wheat. The technology has crossed pilot stage and a Continuous Process plant would have established this technology very well. The pilot plant data has very accurately calculated the Pre Investment feasibility as an economically and ecologically viable technology needing no subsidies. The feasibility calculations also had set a purchase price for rice, wheat straws and rice husk which would have made it attractive to farmers to supply their post harvest wastes. Concerned key decision makers have inexplicably shown scant attention to this 100% Make In India option.On the other hand MNRE's attempt to add ethanol as blend to petrol or diesel has not succeeded, since alcohol makers would rather sell to distilleries which make potable alcohol and who pay a better price. more

I tried to discuss Electoral Reforms but found PATRIOTS HAVE no interest.
Pollution is another CURRENT ISSUE which can be discussed but अव तक ZERO OR of no interest to Patriots.
HOWEVER
This is a recurring problem.
Reasons are known to EVERYBODY hence nobody is at all interested.
How this kind of PROBLEM GETS CREATED every year and who are creators is very well known to we all.
MEDIA providing full support to public and govt. at THIS POINT OF TIME.
Public providing and/or willing to provide full support without any question.
HAS ANY BODY ANY KIND/SIZE/TYPE OF DOUBT/s.
I am confident that OPPOSITION OF ANY KIND, SIZE, SHAPE, TYPE will be providing full support willingly or unwillingly.
DO WE HAVE POLITICAL WILL TO STOP BURNING OF AGRICULTURE WASTE????

Agriculture income is 100% TAX FREE.
Investment of BIGWIGS IS AT STAKE - Industrialists/ businessmen, politicians, bureaucrats, etc. who make rules and rule INDIA.
They will never like to pay POLLUTION CONTROL costs as fine.
Small marginal farmers are limited now and could be caught/punished at WILL on short notice BY ANY GOVERNMENTs past/present or future.
Please comment with possible solution.
Who is suffering —- General public students, kids, elderly persons, ordinary office/factory going workers,TAX PAYERS etc. the list is quite long.
Bureaucrats & politicians, businessmen and business houses are planning based upon future prospects (as created by this POLLUTION).....
