I happened to visit Aadyar Anand Bhavan Outlet in Kammanahalli, Bangalore & purchased some ready mix ingredients and was charged GST on the MRP, where the earlier taxes are already factored in .Is this not an unfair practice? more
As long as cash is accepted in shops, billing can be avoided. Shop keepers will make more money and rob the government. This is a loophole and the dealer / retailer makes more and pockets the money which he never billed collected as tax and will get richer, as the customer is "only" paying MRP. The MRP includes the tax which the trader never billed. The consumer must reduce 4% tax, if bill is not raised before making payment. more
The custom of MRP came because traders were charging many taxes at high rates like Octroi 6%, Sales Tax 12%, excise 18% +++ on net price. So Govt said write Single MRP on package, no more charges. But these crooks are out again. MRP is MAXXIMUM retail price .. Does the trader not understand the literary meaning of the word . PAY MRP ONLY. To include higher GST, if any, revised MRP is allowed. This is called profiteering, as feared by GOI more
Have courage to "decline" purchase of the product and THREATEN to report such shopkeepers to the authorities. We did the same last week, and the shopkeeper had no option but to succumb. Sad, that honesty and consciousness are not valued in our country. Unfortunately, they've been getting away with murder so far, abhi thoda time lagega! more
