PRICE CONTROL - Action Plan

1. All food items whether branded or sold loose should be exempted from GST.
2. Contributions by Members of Cooperative Housing Societies and Residents Association should be exempt from GST without any limit on monthly contribution and overall collection limit of Rs.20 Lakhs. Such contributions are made from the income tax paid money by Members and levy of GST @18% amounts to double taxation and is illegal and unconstitutional. Cooperative Housing Societies are providing services for convenience of members and not for generating profit. For this reason Cooperative Housing Societies were exempted from Service Tax.
3. All products used by women for hygiene purposes e.g. Sanitary Napkins etc. should be exempt from GST.
4. A Price Control Regulatory Authority needs to be set up to check whether Companies are passing on the benefit of Input Tax Credit to the Consumer.
5. It may be necessary to amend the Companies Act to make it mandatory for Companies to disclose in their Annual Reports, cost data of GST paid raw materials used by them for the finished products, being sold by them and input tax credit adjusted in the cost of finished products.
6. GST Act needs to be amended to achieve One Nation One Tax and States should not be allowed to levy additional Tax.
7. All products including Petrol & Diesel should be brought under GST.
8. Even duties such as Stamp Duty, Court Fees etc. should be changed to GST with Uniform Rate all over India. more

Completely agree with you more
I totally agree with Mr. Mohit Pande more
Mr. Pande, modifying taxation structure would do less to control prices in India. Only competition in the market and modernization of the manufacturing industry could do such thing. In our country there is a long distribution channel for most of the consumer goods with value addition in each subsequent stages. A mechanism of eliminating intermediate steps would do well to control price but at the risk of making millions jobless. Some tax rates are a little harsh and hopefully would be corrected in coming days. more
GST has become messy & all of us who earlier welcomed GST are now getting disappointed. more
There are several ambiguities in classification and levy of taxation in gst due to hurried implementation including Gstn services , export services benefit to pass on to exporter, composite tax payers difficulties etc which gst council should relook and resolved the hardship of trader and general people. Housing society is an association of person to serve only its member at their cost and therefore, it is purely illogical to charge gst on their services. There is justification to charge gst where club house is maintained by the society to serve their members as it belongs to elite class more
