Price Disclosure Transparency by Dentists

I wrote about this issue in one of the circles in 2015-16 when a Dentist in Banaras charged my father 18000 for a treatment which at best was 7000. I am glad it has been taken up by Localcircles. When the Mint article was shared with me I searched for the report and found.

I think this is need of the hour and this practice of quoting cost when someone is on the chair with mouth open and tools inside is an unfair trade practice.

I think even best dentists will be supportive of this, thise engaging in these practices may not support. Lets demand this be enforced by Govt directly or through association more

One hundred percent agree. Infact the right way should be to charge a consultation fee for inspection and quoting the cost. more
This a most welcome suggestion. Apart from Dentists, other medical practitioners should also diplay their procedure wise chatges. For dentists, of course it is easier to standardise their rates as the porcedures are more easily definble. more
This is a good suggestion and not only dentists, the all other sellers should also display a rate chart for the convenience of the prospective buyers. Decade back, this procedure was followed but over the years it has lost sight. The system must be re-introduced. more
Do you ask lawyers to display their prices? The worst kind of un regulated pricing happens in the legal service. more
