Price increase due to petrol/diesel coming

Effective September 1, consumer durables companies have decided to raise prices by about 2-5 per cent across products on account of currency fluctuations. Most brands have already communicated the new prices to their dealers and distributors. more

Both Central and State Govts must bring Patrol and diesel under GST. If it is being delayed then Taxes levied should be what it was on 1st Jan 2018 irrespective of price increase in International market.And this should remain constant till 31st Dec 2018. more

All the State government and the Central government are to be blamed. State and Center can not leave the VAT and excise from Petroleum, but put the blame on international price rise. more

As per provisions of Legal Metrology Packaged Commodity Rules 2011 ..no manufacturer ,wholesalers or retailer is permitted to alter the mrp unless otherwise information regarding increased mrp isnot published in newspapers under intimation to the concerned Controller Legal Metrology of the state. Rise in price of petroleum products in sympathy with international price rise of crude oil is quite natural. Entire world excepting OPCs suffer. However, when the international prices go down, the benefit should be passed on to the citizens. Instead the state imposed huge taxes and duties to neutralize the benefit. It is but justified now to remove the taxes and duties to balance the general price line. The country's economy has been jeopardized due to various issues like extremely high population growth, corruption at all levels of society and government, mismanagement etc. The result, all round rise in prices for increased cost of distribution. No one is trying proactively to mitigate the hardships of people. Verbal sympathy and cutting quibble by opposition political parties without suggesting plausible solutions are no good more
