As patients are increasing day by day due to various reasons and cardiac arrests are happening in more number of citizens of India. Most of the people in India are economically average and below average people, hence i would suggest to reduce prices of life saving drugs. more
For my heart problem a approached Sri Jayadeva Cardiac Institute in Bangalore. This a government hospital but an autonomous Institution, run efficiently . The hospital is maintained very clean. Many doctors are highly devoted and work very hard. Daily several hundred nay a few thousand patients from all over Karnataka and possibly from neighbouring states visit this hospital for treatment. Charges are very moderate for laboratory tests, echo cardiogram, etc.etc. The general hospital run by the Tamil Nadu (then Madras Presidency) government was run efficiently attending to patients. I am talking about my experience about 60 years ago. I do not know the present position. I have lived in Calcutta for several years. The Sukhlal Karnany hospital (previously known Presidency hospital) was maintained with some efficiency but after Mr Jyoti Basu came to power in 1977 all comrades crowded the hospital and its management was taken over by the CPM cadres from the doctors. There is another hospital in Kolkata, the medical college hospital. It was maintained very badly. Only very poor people used to go to the hospital and the doctors can treat them with utter negligence. more
Hello! Ramesh Bondada , Sir , You have been able to classify People into two types in your Resource from the point of one-way-view of yours on the Life Saving Drugs . This is lesser analytically. You have no view at all about the Institutions . The point is that in India there are the Government Hospitals headed by the District Medical Superintendents on par with the District Collectors & District Superintendents of Police . At the same time , due to the Indian Policy of Mixed Economy , there are Private Hospitals owned by Community Lords of Privateurs ( Entrepreneurs ) claiming higher quality of Domestic as well as Foreign Medical Education & Laws of Treatments and Practices . This is called two pronged approach to Social Diseases & Prevention of Cruelty to Patients . But now arises the sharp question of scales of economies of Patients besides that of Institutions involving the factors of rich , poor , prestige , values and symbols of Status of Families with the inter and intra Competition features in social circles and quality circles . If the Patients are not willingly approaching the Government Hospitals but merely herding to the Private Hospitals wantonly on here-says that Government Hospitals are not better than Private Hospitals , it is unwelcome and they pay MRP-prices of Life Saving Drugs for their own decisions out of their own pockets even by borrowing to end up in debts. That is to say , they are pulverising themselves economically . more
