Product Recall in ecommerce

CCPA has passed an order against Flipkart and slapped Rs 1 lakh penalty for allowing sale of pressure cookers in breach of mandatory standards on its platform.
Company has been directed to notify consumers of 598, recall & reimburse their prices & submit compliance report in 45 days.

My point is anytime a seller is found to be selling some thing fake. One buyer may find it but 500 may not. Can LocalCircles raise the requirement that a recall mandatory be implemented by the platform/seller for all consumers who have bought the fake product? more

First of all selling of fake and substandard products/items on e-commerce platforms should be made a cognizable offence. Once it is done, the problem will be mostly solved automatically as the sellers who are dependent on e-commerce platforms would avoid taking risk in dealing with such products. more
if retailer wont maintain records, manufacturer at least knows well , which product passes quality test and which one not.He can categorize product as A Grade,B GRADE if any poor finishing , C GRADE.and scrap the product if it can cause any threat to life.as pressure cookers, should be only A grade, handles screws get loose after few months, hot cooker can slip from hand . manufacturers, if shoulder all these responsibilities, retailers need not to keep record. more
It's a good judgement to snub such E commerce agencies to do malpractice in doing business. Such cheap offer always lures the customers instantly and later face multiple problems. It's a good decision to penalise for such wrongdoing that also send a message to customers to get alert in next time. more
If all payment transactions are digital, then it will not be difficult to keep records of all sales details more
Retail shopkeeper will never agree to maintain record of all buyers of all the items he sell. If required by law it may turnup as big cost, which will be on consumer more
