Profiteering by Milk Dairies

Since March 2020 the price of milk supplied in plastic pouches was further increased by 50 paise per half litre under the pretext that Dairies will collect empty plastic pouches and refund 50 paise to consumer.

Now we are in June 2020 end and dairies are neither collecting the empty milk pouches nor refunding the excess amount of 50 paise per pouch collected by them.

I was informed by a customer relation executive of a prominent dairy that Dairies have made a representation to government and are waiting for directive as it is not practical for them to collect empty pouches.

I request Local Circles to take up this issue with government. In the interim Dairies should roll back the price by 50 paise per pouch till such time they start collecting empty milk pouches and refund the excess amount collected so far to consumers. more

Hardly anyone knew about this . Clearly, there was no justification for this other than that, this would help in orderly disposal of polluting waste AT NO EXTRA COST to the customer. Since this has not been done, please reduce the cost of the packet immediately by 50paise. Also repay the overcharged amount upto date at least to PM Relief fund if you cannot refund it to customers. Also, we are buying UHT packed milk nowadays to avoid daily trips to the market. why should this milk cost 50% or so more for just the packing? Govt dairies are profiteering here also. Notably, Goodlife UHT milk sold at Bangalore dairy  is priced only 2 rupees above the normal plastic packing. what prevents other dairies from such honest pricing? By the way, this should not be a pretext for other govt dairies to gang up against Goodlife UHT milk and force it to raise prices. . Will they roll back? In fact from today they have increased the price further by 50 paise per pouch. more
It is difficult to collect back the pouches and get the refund of 50 paisa. more
Indians by nature take advantage of situation. Unless input costs are increased for any reason ,price rise should be challenges more
If it is so, Local Circle should take up the issue for the refund of ₹ 0.50 per pouch since the date of increasing the price in this context. more
