profiteering in replacement parts

Friends, many many brands for gadgets appliances automobiles engage in rampant profiteering when it comes to replacement spare parts.

Because we are captive they charge the moon and milk us. Can something be done in consumer interest where there is a cap on service and replacement parts profit?

I am not being anti capitalism but just want fair pricing for replacement parts Industry.

That is why we have mechanics who will buy second hand parts of vehicles/Appliances and repair equipment.

See attached how we paid IFB at MRP which is likely 3-4X their cost. more

I wish to take up this issue. Can someone in the group tell what are the Laws related to pricing products - be it electronic, medicines, auto spares and where I can take up this issue. More than a year back, I was quoted price of my Duster fan belt @ Rs. 5,250/-. This is exorbitantly high, could be 10 times high. more
product sold at india market are low quality. replacing apart cost half of the product price. more
All equipment manufacturers, be it MNC or local, play the same trick to exploit the hapless consumers. Consumer affairs ministry should frame guidelines to stop this un fair trade practice. more
its the same with each and every electric and electronic brand w knowledge of electronics, electricals i know i can repair equipment w same components at 25% cost but end up paying huge amounts , most organizations change the whole circuit board instead of a single component charge huge , some other charge exorbitant for single component against which one can change the complete circuit board . more
