Profiteering online grocery platforms

The online grocery platforms like widely used Tata Big Basket, Reliance Milk Basket, Amazon Fresh, Zepto, Instamart are all profiteering from the consumer. They are still selling tomato for 100-130 per kg. So is the case with most fruits and vegetables.

I fail to understand that if a farmer is back to selling tomato for INR 30/Kg how does a Tata or Reliance who is buying 10 lakh kgs a day still not able to sell for INR 50/60 per kg

Either they are badly inefficient or they are just profiteering from consumers.

We should consider boycotting such platforms for fresh groceries and go back to the local vendor. more

would request the likes to keep supporting Andolans like that of farmers and you will only see prices skyrocketing for each and every product, when nobody learns then government backsteps and let the mafias take over . good luck for your future grievences which will only increase more
Without knowing the full facts and circumstances, it is not possible to know who is profiteering unreasonably. more
I couldn't agree more. Not only this they supply you rotten Fruits and Vegetables and when you raise a complain they ask for Proofs.....They are Cheating Openly and should be taken to the Consumer Courts....They all are the same... more
Thanks for your suggestion. Do you feel that a corporate seller should consult every consumer before finalizing the Business policies for them? If you can't afford it don't but it. The Avocado fruit is being sold in the market upward ₹100/PC. Do we know the cost? exactly, just like the remote of your TV which you can use to choose the channel you want to watch, same with any merchant establishment. if you do not want to buy from online grocery sites, go to your local grocery store. more
We need to first find out who is profiteering ? how and where does the price increase from Rs 30 / Kg to 260 Rs / Kg when the consumer buys it , what are the additional costs like transportation , storing , middlemen's profit etc to find out who is profiteering and by how much . Then we must boycott the one who is unreasonable at the cost of the Public and boycott such agencies more
