Protect MAHANIRBAN MATH from commercialising.
Mahanirban Math at 113, Rashbehari Avenue, Kolkata-700029, a heritage (category-1) property, but the trusty board basically the secretary of the math changing its character, like modifying the existing building, covering the open land by brick and cement. They are now make decision that they will utilize the open land for commercial use, for that they are trying to separate the vacant land from math property, which is under the heritage property. There are no one to protest about it. more

It's a pity that the management committee has planned to change the character of such an age old Institute of Hindu culture to a commercial establishment. During our younger days whenever we passed by we used stop, pay our obeisance and then proceed. The present state Govt. who boasts of eual opportunity to all should be approached for financial assistance, if that is the solwe purpose of action. more

It seems a bad decision.......the beauty and sanctity of math will be destroyed ......Government should interfere and look into this. more

It seems the government has already " interfered" for obvious reasons. This cannot have happened without the "help" of local influential people. more
