Protecting Water bodies
I see many water bodies near my area (I also assume many such may be available across India)being not maintained or encroached be people which is resulting in below issues:
1) It slowly eroding the water bodies
2) construction of illegal housing which loads the govt. to give water supply and electricity to all of those migrants
3) spoiling the environment
Few suggestions of mine:
1) Central Govt. must come out with policy to identify all water bodies within 6 months and send a GO for stopping further encroachment
2) Create natural fencing around those water bodies
3) Encourage water sport or tourism activity which can help the migrants to take care of their earning
4) Expenditure for all of this may be shared as 50%(central)+25% (state)+25% (private or public) more

RAJESH P Shah One more lake missing as they say about 593 acres of land in eaten by public only the bus stop name remain Maduravoyal aerikarai. all the way from maduravoyal to metro nagar near alapakkam the main road length is about 3 kms and this was in parallel to alapakkam main road about 110 feet away from right side corner of the road when you travel from p h road, to arcot road. it is now shrink to about 2 acres. Bad governance of our revenue dept that we have to beg water from different states. more

Your suggestions are good.Moreover,water bodies are essential for protection of environment and ground water table in the surrounding areas. more
