Public Grievance Portals

The best example is the Public Grievance Portal of every Government and institution. This was originated to resolve grievances of the public in general.

This is only to generate employment to few more bureaucrats to ensure and give you their replies after enquiring about the grievance from the concerned authority. This is nothing but a publicity stunt. I give evidence of this.

I stay at Jogeshwari East, Mumbai. The post office situated here was closed down because of dilapidation of the building and its subsequent demolition. The Govt. provided a post office about 4/5 km away from the previous one. Even the postal deliveries are affected, let alone the postal stationery. The govt. failed to reserve its place in the dilapidated building and did not get the required place in the newly reconstructed building. Simply enough, it commenced litigation against the builder knowingly that it had no case because the lease agreement with the previous builder had expired long ago and was not renewed. This case will now go on for years.

But the citizens who were deprived of the existing facility, have not been re-instated with it as yet. For the last 4 years, the citizen is inconvenienced and deprived of this facility he had since 1960.

How did the grievance on the portal help? Could the Govt. not find an alternative place? If it cannot how will the common citizen get it? The Govt. had the option of opening a new office on the grounds of the IY College Campus. The state govt could allot place for a club not a post office. It could shift several other offices but not a post office. more

First one raises the issue with the department and when they reject the plea, the issue is raised to ministry on the portal. But unfortunately, the ministry does not even read the grievance, leave alone understand the factual position, and forwards it to the department again. The department that had earlier rejected obviously would not like to go against their own stand and hence again rejects it. Again the ministry does not even read the reply. IN SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES, I FULLY AGREE WITH Mr DHARAM VIR SOBTI THIS SYSTEM IS A BURDEN ON THE EXCHEQUER WITH NO BENEFITS WHATSOEVER. more
Every one is working including PMO office exactly as थे POST OFFICE functioning now a days. Like post office sorters does not check the address properly and the post s dropped at any place they desire. I have observed that every day there are at least 2-3 post in our building post box which are not of our building. Same way every department including PMO office is functioning. Our PM is very busy so he can not pay attention to such pity issues. इसी को कहते है दिये के नीचे अंधेरा. I am afraid I am not arrested for this post. more
Except under RTI act We are not getting any response to our grievance redressels. This is very true in REVENUE DEPT , who fleece consumers for giving LEGAL HARE and PATTA certificates more
The representation made to the management of the organization, in which I am working turned as no use, for the grievance within the frame of rules in force. Hence, I sent supplication alongwith all proof, thereof to the PMO in December, 2016. They forwarded it to respective ministry, in turn they forwarded it to the organization at Calcutta, which has no connection with me. Moreover, I expected the PM office should go through the content and get it cross-check, in order to ensure my grievance is within the rule and direct the respective office directly or through ministry, concerned to get it solved. But, it acted as Post Office to forward the application to the respective department; but at their cost. Like so, I sent a suggestion to revamp the PSESB, through PMO. In turn, I got the reply from Ministry of social welfare, that your grievance was forwarded to respective office. First of all, the suggestions were given for PSESB. Whereas, the PMO officials sent to Ministry of Social Justice, which has no connection to the suggestions, I dropped. Moreover, it did not have any grievance of mine; but of suggestions. But, the Ministry replied that my grievance was directed to respective department. It is the sorry state of affairs of the PMO. Even, when I made reminder both to my grievance and suggestion, I did not get reasonable reply. This is the current status of the department/ministry, concerned. Moreover, I do not know any of the officials in PMO or with PSESB or with Mr. Amit Shah Office, to get my genuine grievance, solved. Where to write, further, as the time limit is very short? Except to pray God, I do not have any other reliable source, then... more
This portal is of no use to the citizens. This is like another Post Office which passes your grievance to the concerned office and delivers their reply to you. It is only a burdon the public exchequer . and should be abolished. If the complaint is against some private entity they do act but Govt. departments don't bother. They can play a very important role in resolving the disputes but it is only a eye wash. more
What you said is very right. These should be abolished. These portal can damage the image of ruling Government and can spread a hate. more
Agree with you sir. I used the portal for road accident related questions about myself. I got wrong answer from central home ministry and illusive answer from prime minister office. In fact the replies are given by the same person who initially provided false answers. I visited related ACP office several times and finally we talked about the matter but the ACP advised me to apply RTI. Actually our rulers have bad intention. Officers and ministers don't care for citizens but they are working for huge amount of money through any means. more
