Public Grievance Portals
This is only to generate employment to few more bureaucrats to ensure and give you their replies after enquiring about the grievance from the concerned authority. This is nothing but a publicity stunt. I give evidence of this.
I stay at Jogeshwari East, Mumbai. The post office situated here was closed down because of dilapidation of the building and its subsequent demolition. The Govt. provided a post office about 4/5 km away from the previous one. Even the postal deliveries are affected, let alone the postal stationery. The govt. failed to reserve its place in the dilapidated building and did not get the required place in the newly reconstructed building. Simply enough, it commenced litigation against the builder knowingly that it had no case because the lease agreement with the previous builder had expired long ago and was not renewed. This case will now go on for years.
But the citizens who were deprived of the existing facility, have not been re-instated with it as yet. For the last 4 years, the citizen is inconvenienced and deprived of this facility he had since 1960.
How did the grievance on the portal help? Could the Govt. not find an alternative place? If it cannot how will the common citizen get it? The Govt. had the option of opening a new office on the grounds of the IY College Campus. The state govt could allot place for a club not a post office. It could shift several other offices but not a post office. more
