Raymonds also doing the same thing. They had offered 50% discount till 15th August. They have shown 50% discount on MRP and then charged GST 12% on the discounted value. When some customers confronted citing the law regarding GST; the cashier simply ignored by saying that the management has instructed and you can complaint to the management or any other authority. Can anyone let me know where to complaint to get effective result? As per Mr. Balakrishnan Swaroop, the above practice is legal whereas the govt exchequer is loosing money! Everybody will use this method to pay less tax by manipulating the MRP (which is again prerogatives of the business owner)!!! more

The goods Manufactured prior to GST ie before July st will continue to have the old MRP. label .In this cas ethey have given a discount of Rs. 1,999 on MRP 3,999 [almost 50%] The GST of 9% state and 9 % of central totaling 18% is charged Rs. 2,000/ .The new MRP after the GST will be 2000+ 360 = 2360 . That is what the trader has charged you. THE BILLING IS RIGHT AS LONG THE NEW MRP IS LOWER THAN THE OLD MRP. I will attach the order pertaining to this in a resource post . more
