Punctuality word should be detached from Indian Railways dictionary
Now days, punctuality in train running time has been seen parted from Indian Railways, rather "Inconvenience to fellow passengers is deeply regretted or highly regretted" words and sentences are replaced. Every time Railways have an explanation with them but no remedy. But passengers are provided with a compelled remedy, i.e. Waiting, waiting and waiting, be you are in the train or on the Railway Platform. Before, Railways was for public utility but now it aimed only for business. On IRCTC Android App and website you can see, every time it is captioned that "IR recovers only 57% of cost of travel on an average" and by this statement IR charges full value of ticket with reservation charge and convenience fees etc. from a waitlist passenger and returns very less amount on account of cancellation in the event of ticket not being confirmed or any other issue of passenger's own. This is as like private operators charging for non performance of travelling. What it is called, purely capitalist thought or business motive. Also they slogan for better services to passengers, what better service they offer should be verified. So, attention should be given for betterment of service as well as punctuality in running the train in time. more

I totally agree with Mr. Sandip Mishra. Anything else can be expected but punctuality. Once upon a time, private organisations were looting people's money. That's why nationalisation came. Now, national employees are not working with dedication. Lesser output and hence Government thinks for privatization. Ultimately people only should get awaken to solve irregularities... Total pension and wages amounts to Rs.1,47,000 crores per year. Now, if you link their salary & pension to productivity, it is anybody's guess. more
