Punishment for Food Adulteration

I think the only thing that may work in this country as a solution to food adulteration is strong punishment like life imprisonment. What is the punishment under the current law? Request FSSAI and other knowledge able people to share the same. more

Is the FSSAI is working, except issuing guidelines. Who has to implement the same ??? more
Our country needs strict laws where the life and health of our citizens are at stake or are compromised. Food Adulteration should be made a non bailable offense with a punishment of atleast 10years. more
To put the adulterators we need 1.Strong Technical team-un corrupted 2.Judiciary-un corrupted Punishment should be severe, there is no doubt about it,since Adulterator is playing with the LIFE of people. more
Strong and time bound punishment for food adulteration is the only answer for ensuring good quality of food and stopping of the adulteration. Unfortunately our Courts take years to take any decision and the universal corruption in the country virtually ensures adulteration in the food and other items. The solution lies in quick decisions by the Courts. A law should be passed by the parliament that every case should be disposed off by the hon'ble courts within one year and if there is delay the hon'ble judge should give reasons for the delay. Youngsters throgh All India tests on the pattern of IAS should be selected as Judges. As the saying goes that justice delayed is justice denied, Indians must put pressure on Executive, Parliament and Judiciary to give time bound judicial decisions in all the cases. more
Often the question is raised, "Is punishment the solution?" Or, is "educating/re-educating" the solution? Has "punishment" solved problems like raping, stealing, hurting/harassing, killing/murdering? Is there hope that educating/re-educating would actually be the solution? Doubts galore, but then you don't arrive unless you start. more
