RAC Vs Open Ticket
Dear Sir,
I am a frequent traveler in Indian Rail. I travel from Chennai to Visakhapatnam. Since past 6 months my reservation goes to RAC and when I board the train and after TTE verification he says no chances of getting confirmation. But I notice that most of the TTE's issue berth's for Open ticket traveler. Is there any rule that RAC traveler should not be allotted with berths? more

By doing TTE makes extra money for their pockets. Gone are the days when RAC ticket holders used to get the confirm ticket during the journey. Solution to this corrupt practice is real time charting. By this passenger will come to know if there is an seat is available anytime during journey. By inputting cell number at the time of reservation will enable railway to send the message to passengers about their seat confirmation during journey. more

If TTE allot berth to the RAC passenger, he is not going to pay "Something". If berth is alloted to open ticket passenger, TTE will get "Somthing". So, RAC passenger should not expect berth. more
