Nirmala Sitharaman may be right in saying that congress just delayed the decision to purchase fighter aircraft by 10 years and so Modi Govt had to buy what could be delivered fastest and hence higher prices but that still does not justify awarding Anil Ambani who has zero experience with defence aircraft and is a financially poorly pefotming defaulting group to get such a large contract. She needs to come clean on that. more

I think we are discussing here without any facts and figures. it would be better to file a RTI and then look into the various aspects. more

It would be difficult to check the truth any query on the deal is met with barbs such as shameful anti national insensitive to the armed forces etc.after her press conference the minister had asked the defence secretary to release a comparative chart ; the bureaucrat true to his salt would first gauge the direction in which the wind is blowing its speed before parting with any information. That Anil Ambani was preferred to HAL amazes me but our queries would remain unanswered. more

Defence deals are the biggest source of corruption. For long, NAL employees were demoralized by not accepting the technologies they developed and procuring inferior technology from abroad. Many young scientists left NAL and we know the status of NAL now. more
