Railway Bulk Reservation
Dear Sir,
Today my father went to submit the letter as per requirement to block/bulk book tickets for my marriage since the counter was to open tomorrow 09.10.2014 for Date of Journey 09.12.2014. He went with a letter, complete passenger list and the wedding invitation card. We had to get the card printed 2.5 months in advance of the marriage just for the booking of the tickets. We required approx 45 tickets to travel with family, friends and relatives. It is a happy occasion for but the entire zeal was dampened when the Railway Official informed us that the bulk booking was possible only in case of a SON’S MARRIAGE. He refused to admit the application on such ground. It is a matter of extreme shame and disgust to believe that this is happening in a democratic country like ours where we are publicising the progressive India. We are still victims to gender discrimination and ill treatment by government officials. This issue has to be looked into since a lot of people may be facing this problem, if there is a provision for bulk booking then it should be same and available to all. more
