Railway Electrification
Should railways privatise the railway electrification works to speed up the process. IR usually takes 3 years from announcing a RE project till its implementation. more

Mr. Naveen Sharma, instead of generalising and considering Government servants as inefficient and bribe takers while those working in the private sector being more efficient and clean, let us remember both are parts of the society to which we all belong to. The private sector is also equally or at times more inefficient and more callous than the public sector. So instead of castigating the public sector and its employees, let us urge the Government to take remedial measures to set the situation right by bringing in accountability. more

My only concern is this that the pace at which the electrification works are going on, may take another 30-40 yrs for railways to convert all sections into electric traction. more

Corruption exists in PSUs as well as private firms. If the owner (i.e the firm giving the contract) is not interested in getting value for money for the order given, which private firm will give or will be interested in giving back. Even if any firm is interested in giving back value for money they will be made to suffer. Solutions : Starting from the Railway Minister have to demonstrate that they are interested in getting value for money in words as well as actions. more

By privatising I mean giving the projects to private firms like Siemens etc, rather than handing over to its own PSUs like CORE or RVNL ... more
