Railway Fares Hike was much needed and pending - RIGHT MOVE

The railway fares hike is the right move. Congress did not have the guts to increase because of elections (otherwise they would have gotten 22 instead of 44 seats).

To convert railways from a loss making to a profit entity and to clean up our dirty looking platforms and to boost railway security, money is needed. The Government' shouldn't take loans and take the country further into deficit.

Only a bold leader like Modi ji could have done this. I fully support it.

Now, we need to ensure we hold Modi ji and the Railways Minister accountable for results.

As collective group of citizens and taxpayers, it will be our job and right to do that. more

The issue is not writing in the bog, without knowing if this will be read and discused in BJP forum... problem is as BJP has to face the music of public we also have to answere our friends and people where we discuss as we are hardcore BJP and proud hindus.... The issue is not merely price rise. BJP were against price rise, when in opposition. They talked vehemently against price rise pre election. Now they talk the need for price rise. Do they think people who voted them are fools. They talked about bringing black money back which will reduce inflation. Instead of speaking Swiss Government they are busy promoting Hindi, cleaning Ganga, visiting Bhutan....What's the priority of NDA......Food inflation at fresh peak, Railfare gone up, electricity to cost more,.....God knows what else will go up in this budget. The issues cannot be settled overnight, I know. But the priorities can be. WE VOTED RIGHTLY... we have confidence in Modi ji. still think of us also who have to also face people. more
I feel we hype things too much. Modiji has just taken over from a Government charged with so many scams. he will need time to get things into place. i am sure with a hike he will give us better facilities, modern trains, better stations, better connection all over India. Services at present in railways is very bad...lot of corruption, favoritism for staff members, freebies for the employers. This all has to be done away with. more
Govt should boldly acknowledge that this increase is absolutely necessary. We cant go on subsidizing rail travel. However it should be ensured that the railway employees do their jobs diligently. proper drinking & sanitary arrangements are made.Accountability should be fixed at all levels, particularly at the supervisory level. If our country has to progress we all must be prepared to put up with some sacrifices. In stead of faultfinding an accommodative approach is necessary from both public & govt officials more
Increase in Railway fare is fair enough but our wishlist would include improvement of services offered by the Railways by way of clean compartments as well as stations with the seats & gadgets in good & working condition, availability of hygienic food in the trains as well in the stations, correct signboards and information. more
