Railway fares now also in category of loot

Mother is traveling and I was doing some booking for her
Jaipur - Vasai tickets for 27/5 are priced at an exorbitant Rs. 5330/- & Rs. 6270/- for 3 & 2 Tier responsibility.

No Premium Tatkal. No eleventh hour booking. Just plain loot.

Similar loot in air fares. The Govt is squeezing honest tax paying citizens like never before. Earnings are bloody stagnant and expenses only increasing. more

No VAITHEESWARAN SANKARANARAYANAN "Madam" is not an Indian word and most of the polite english speaking world does not use that word any longer unless they are referring to a woman of bad place. Indians need to stop using that all together. more
Members who are writing for LC are educated and are lesser in numbers compared with people living in slums and thriving on culture of freebies to select leaders for all of us. I am not against poverty. I am against bullying spirit instilled in these people by wannabe leaders. And this spirit of might is right and more the merrier affects all of us Living in Delhi is becoming difficult and feeling of one-upmanship of 2 classes, because of dwindling law and order. Appeasement policies is affecting not only travelling by railways, but draining money of honest tax payers through lots of our taxes-indirect taxes, paid in lots and direct taxes little. Migrants-lots Educated people who read LC-very few. Find your own solutions and despite us being lesser in numbers,do cast your vote carefully. more
Dilip Thate you need to educate yourself about free market economy, subsidies and why things should be privatize. It is a shame that many Indians are still willing to live in a socialist economy and have not learned from gov. run banks, Air India and others squandering taxpayers money in bad practices. more
Aslo there is 40% extra cost for holiday special train and these trains are almost delayed 3-4 hours generally. more
Undoubtedly the train traveling has become very stiff. If the Govt didn't want to pay subsidies, they don't have the right to charge exorbitant price for train travel. more
