Railway is unfit for travel. Even animals will not like to travel in Indian Railway. more
Definitely all canteens which are serving sub standard food and water should be closed with immediate effect and a citizens and govt joint committee should be appointed who will ensure that whoever is given license to operate is operating with proper standards, and the committee should consist of persons who are eating the canteen food also as they will be the people who will ensure the contractor keeps his word, let the prices be higher but food safety cannot be compromised due to losses, infact railways instead of charging rent should offer water on subsidised cost to the contractor so the question of using sub standard does not arise, it is an amenity the railway is duty bound to provide not a money making revenue source at the passengers health cost. There are a lot of retired Railway veterans who would gladly like the work of supervising and ensuring amenities are working well. more

The Station Managers and other officers posted in railway stations are undoubtedly involved in corrupt practices and getting bribes from those allowed to sell food stuffs & soft drinks and drinking water on the platforms and even in trains. Otherwise how these people dare to sell such low quality and rotten food stuffs and unauthorised brands of water and other drinks. How these people are allowed to load such stuffs in trains in presence of the rail staff? Hence, if the railway ministry is really sincere to offer best & fresh quality food stuff and drinks, it should first keep close watch over the activities of its station staff as well as the running stuff, such as, guards, TTEs etc. and book few of them for punishment to set examples for others. Provisions must be made for stringent punishment for the contractors found guilty of compromising with the quality of food stuff and engaged in duping the passengers. The offence must be classified as criminal offence and punishment should range from heavy penalty to life imprisonment. more
From start onwards the food quality is like that (ie) for the past 40 years . Now it was posted as if it is a new news more
