RAILWAY RESERVATION
It is a common knowledge that that for months together wait list number does not go up and suddenly, nobody knows why, when the Chart is prepared a few hours before departure time a big jump in wait list / RAC number takes place and tickets get confirmed.
Railways should come out with a clear explanation of this phenomenon.
Railways should also understand people have great difficulty with this last minute confirmation as people have to take leave in their offices and in Metro Cities it takes several hours for one to go from his office to his house and then to railway station.
Chart may be made 24 Hours in advance of train departure and all the vacancies should be added to to Tatkal Quota. Even Tatkal Charges should not be fixed but flexible. more

Many times we had purchased Talkal Ticket & later knew WL tickets were confirmed on preparation of Chart. It lead for unnecessarily double expenditure to us. It needs to be reviewed & necessarily updation in software to be made. more

the W L /R A C status should be regularly updated so that the passrnger knows his position and acts accordingly, last minite confirmation is creatoing great difficulties.status more

In Rlys Quota for Railways, VIPs etc is age old system. IRCTC has adopted the same. When chart is prepared, if the Quota berths are not booked, then the RAC and WL bookings are adjusted in the unused Rlys/VIP quota + cancellations of General Quota..... more

i think this is being done so that we will buy tatkal tickets.it has happened to me too.when i saw the witing list i went for tatkal ticket and lo beholed the same waiting list number which i didnot book was confirmed when the chart was prepared.i i think they wait for the tatkal tickets to get full and only then they release th wait list quota more

IRCTC is inventing ways and means to complicate the booking of tickets. ONLY GOD CAN SAVE, as the minister is ignoring the problems of passengers. more
