Railway Stations more at risk then airports

yesterday alerts were issued by Govt of India for 24 airports under threat of terrorist attack. airports are already heavily guarded, monitored, cctvs are there and what not. at stations we have very little and anyone can carry out attacks like it happened in vt station in 2008. The number of people impacted at station can be many fold of at airport.

What is ministry of railways plan to better prepare the 24 main stations of the country like the airports? more

Any terrorist attack at any crowded station or in a train will be more devastating than at airport. Unfortunately the security at Rly. Stns is lax. more

Its ok to say security measures are needed for all places of public gathering. But there is a basic difference between airports and railway stations. We need security measures not only 24 railway stations but all thousands of stations including bus stations. But can it happen? Most likely not. Why all of us (125 cross) do not treat ourself as security persons. No one is above abroad. One and all should save our country from a few number of miscreants. Ok it is theoretical. But why not have our own people say ward members in cities and 'panch' in villages be given magisterial power in cases of identifying suspects. All this need honesty and can happen if our approach is doing service and not paid servants. Payment very generally associated with bribe. Honorary work may not be biases. Some such measures are needed at places of crowd including railway stations.
