Railway taking advantage of people

Patna to Itarsi Rail Fare in Suvidha Express ( 82355 ) for AC2 Coach. Have a look at the Fare Break Up. Dynamic Charge is equal to Basic Fare. A whopping Rs 4670 fare for a journey less than a 1000 kms. Outrageous !!

In the name of dynamic charges railways is profiteering more

Victimising the railways success, is how I can put it. All kinds of experiments being done, when trains have the potential and promise to make travel fast, while being the most environmentally friendly, more so when running on taxpayer's money. Dynamic charges are an wherein skimming pricing economics make tickets so expensive, should be used judiciously, or in a monopsonistic market travellers could choose other option such as road travel with highways becoming so good. more
Unfortunately, people are paying and travelling. When certain pricing is not acceptable, People, unless totally unavoidable, should refrain from undertaking the journey. In that eventuality, Suvidha trains will go predominantly vacant and Railways will automatically wind up such proposals. Indian Railways, especially passenger segment is a loss making proposition and Railways was being run as subsidized public utility. Unless Railways generate it's own resources, there is very little scope for it's development. During last 7 years, efforts are being made to run the Public Utility on basis of economic viability and business proposition. How long you can go in converting a Public Utility into a business proposition in a BPL country is a matter of public debate In order that there is a check on this, SUVIDHA trains and dynamic pricing must be discouraged by users. more
Firstly, as the most environmentally friendly option, long distance travel option, fairs should be lower, but dynamic pricing okay since it is demand based. Trains take bulk of our traffic, enjoying economies of scale and scope, for example providing employment, or say catering services. Pricing dynamically if at all should be entirely through a fair computer based algorithm, free from any human discretion. Hope railways improve speed while also making the journey comfortable, so that more are attracted towards travelling by trains. Gadkari ji has already planned making super fast expressways or highways so that commuters may drive to nearby locations a few hundred kilometers away, rather than taking flights everywhere. more
Now that Airports have been taken over by Adani's. Railway's can't be far behind. If the Dynamic Fare from Patna to Itarsi has left you fuming...take heart even flyers are being fleeced. Besides Airfare charges, we have Seat Fee, Convenience Fee, Airport Security Fee, User Development Fee & Cute Charge(Indigo). So if you are cute, be ready to pay extra. The Central Government and Supreme Court are more concerned about People eating out and are both asking Restaurant's Not to Charge: Service Fees...while Airlines & Trains would continue to fleece. more
