Railway ticket price increase

As far as possible control / decrease the prices by better governance, minimising the flab / unwanted manpower costs, maximise the utility by increasing the number of compartments for each train, creating accountability at Regional manager, zonal manager, station master and other levels, localisation of critical component manufacturing, etc. Some one quoted that every month railways are facing loss of 900 crores due to poor governance. Increase the checking in the trains and platforms, by increasing the man power. Even if the monthly salary bill raises by another 50-100 crore, it is more than satisfactory, if it catches that 900 crores of loss. more

governance in public undertaking will never improve if modi govt governs india for 10 terms also only antidote for better governance in psu is remove qota based promotion/sifarish based promotion/chaplusi based promotion only the best with leadership /honest/knows his job well/execute his job well will be given promotion or else no promotion just see the result after this we will out beat america and europe in no time more
Three things are of primary importance. 1) Optimum utilization of coaches and rakes that are available by rescheduling the trains. 2) scrapping of unprofitable routes. 3) Implementing safety measures for train operations. With current oil scenario it is not practical to talk of reduction in fares. I think it is better to charge a bit more and give world class facilities than to charge less while putting lives of passengers in danger. more
So far the govt actions are not swift. With a Iron fist, control the Rapes in UP and other states. If the state govt could not control the situation due to local politics, give the powers to central forces. But let the Govt show its commitment to social well being. more
