Railway working condition now .
1.Railway Stations-Central & Egmore- are generally over crowded When trains arrive from the yard people overcrowd at the entrance, especilly in the Unreserved compartments. More number of Unreserved compartments to be allocated. Emergency Quota are not properly given for emergent purposes like, death cases, accidental cases. marriage cases, court attending cases, prior appointment cases etc., but favoritism shown and VIP raj prevails there. VIPs unnecessarily delay tour visits and at the last minute rush for VIP Quota.
2.Stations are maintained very ugly. No Spitoons, inadequate dust bins at convenient distances, children are allowed to urinate in the platform itself, All Railway parcels are piled in the platform itself far ahead of arrival time, thereby hindering passengers movements in the platform, coolies park push carts on the way in the platform itself hindering passengers' movement, many last minute confirmation of reservation news does not reach passengers, While train is brought from the yard the engine is not parked at stipulated location so that the coaches are not at the designated locations. This causes old people suffer very much. On very many occasions, the first coach is parked on the rear side (reverse direction) of the train. Hence those expect train at assigned location have to run to far most distance. Announcement of Arrivals and departures are not done atleast 10 minutes before actual arrival. On many occasions, 2 minutes after arrival on the platform the Sign Board is updated. The controlling authorities are not keen and careful and passing of information to the announcer is not up to the mark. Now a days terrorism is a regual threat. Hence constant vegil must be on crowded areas like Rly.Stations and this is not followed strictly. Personal checking is just formal and baggage checking by scanner is very slow. Persons who have no work with in the
Rly. station are not to be allowed. On rainy days, the persons without shelter are allowed inside the suburban platforms and make the safety of passengers risky. If any train accidents occur especially sub urban train routs, the dead bodies are place on the platforms for hours together due to red tape procedure. This makes the situation in the platform among passengers allergic could not view the sight. The railway canteen are generally given to private catering contractors and the quality,quantity, hygienic condition of food and canteen are not at all checked by Station masters. Late arrivals of trains are not properly ascertained by Station Master from the concerned location Station masters and announced as correctly as possible. more
