Railways accepts our 2016 circle demand - congrats all

I remember raising the issue multiple times in 2015 and I know it was part of security safety consultation by Railways in the circle itself where we said that platforms must be closed so people cant enter from all sides. this was in context of prevention against terrorism.

Per new reports yesterday, the same has been accepted and the railways is planning to seal stations just like airports and passengers will soon have to arrive 15-20 minutes before the scheduled departure of trains to complete the security check process.

"The plan is to seal the railway stations. It is primarily about identifying openings and to determine how many can be closed. There are areas which will be closed through permanent boundary walls, others will be manned by RPF personnel and yet others will have collapsible gates.

"At each entry point there will be random security checks. However, unlike at airports, passengers need not come hours in advance, but just 15-20 minutes ahead of their departure times to ensure that they are not delayed because of the security process," the official said

The security plan — with high-end technology — has already been put in motion at Allahabad, in anticipation of the Kumbh Mela which begins this month and at Hoobly railway station in Karnataka. A blueprint for 202 more stations is ready for implementation, Railway Protection Force Director General Arun said. more

Now itself Passengers are Already troubled with the Commotion from Traffic and Ticket booking(unreserved).. Now with this move its gonna get more Frustrating... There will be serious backlash from public for sure.. I hope this is reconsidered more
LOL... The idea logically is fine.. But practically Its Ridiculous... Comparing Airports with Rly stantions is itself a joke... We have atleast 10 times more of Crowd at Main Junctions compared to Airports.. And Doing a Security Check for all PAssengers (including UT Passengers is ONLY GONNA DELAY THe PROCESS and WILL BE REALLY A Herculean Task... Rather than that.. NEed to Fix more cameras in and out of the Station and Frisk each individual who is suspicious.. more
As a part of safety, Railways should organise the checking of passengers by TTE at the entry gate of the compartment in Shatabdi and Rajdhani Express trains. No passenger should enter unless checked and OKayed by TTE at door of the compartment. On a trial basis it should be done at the train originating station to test the feasibility, etc.... more
It is a mad idea which could only come from a person who thought of demonetization. With trains running regularly 2 to 3 hours late what should be considered as the scheduled departure time. Completely impractical idea. Instead, if they could keep the tracks clean which generally are covered with shit from the train toilets, it would be more practical. more
Plesae discuss on the specific given issue and demonetization is not a subject of discussion. more
It is an impractical decision - not going to help anyone but would harass those who get delayed due to traffic jam or any other exigency. You can not stop entry of suspected people. They may enter through the nearby sub-urban local stations. Many a times trains are re-scheduled or delays to start and reach the destination. If the Railways want to copy the systems of the airports, they first need to provide equivalent facility as the airport. In big station like Howrah, how much time it takes to reach a train if it is placed in platform no 15 ? more
