Railways economic health was in disaster following fate of Air India .Unfortunately railways was misused for political gain for a long time . Every railway minster restored to populism with out much caring for economics, safety and services .Mr Suresh Prabhu , a dedicated professional has avoided the temptation of populism and laid down road map for improvement in existing infrastructure and improvement in services. Providing filter water at economical rate , improvement in food services , introduction of more bio toilets and stress on clean railways ,safety of women , care for senior citizens and improvement in efficiency are other major point in the budget { mission statement } more

Many people were not enthusiastic about introduction of Bullet train as existing super fast trains average speed has not gone beyond 70km ph , lack of punctuality and poor services. Perhaps they do not know that it may take minimum 6-7 years to build up necessary infrastructure. Therefore, Mr Prabhu rightly laid down his plans to improve signal system, tracks and technical modification so as to improve the speed of existing trains and services as priority while start up preparation for bullet trains. Confident enough those who are criticising today will admire the progress and improvement. more
