Railways indulging in unfair means through misleading information
Last month I was travelling in Tamil Nadu and while planning return trip from Coimbatore to Chennai, I saw that the Shatabdi Express( Train No.12244) with Chair Car starting from Coimbatore at 15:05 hours and reaching Chennai at 22:15 could suit us for the trip as all others showed Waiting List. I scrolled through the Chair Car availability and found luckily that just a few seats were still available and booked 3 tickets on 28th September for the 29th September journey (Self, my Wife & my son). When I boarded the train at Coimbatore junction I found that the Coach C-4 had just 40% occupancy. I thought that perhaps passengers would be boarding at Erode or other intermediate station ( just 5 stops) however the people boarding were compensated by people exiting...so the entire journey this coach just had 40% or less occupancy while Railways site while booking misled us with : "Only few seats available" prompt to push us to book. I wonder if this is the case then can one believe the position shown in Sleeper Class as also other classes? more

Most of the vacant seats/berths belong to different useless quotas and also Flexifare scheme is a culprit. more

WE THE PUBLIC ARE ENCOURAGING THESE SO GOVT. PEOPLE ARE DOING SAME. WHY CONT THE OPPOSITION PARTIES CAN WORK ON THESE ISSUE AND MAKE THE RESOLUTION FOR BENEFITS OF PUBLIC. ALL PARTIES ARE COME TO POWER TO EARN MONEY. SO THESE TRICKS NEED TO PLAY TO GET GOOD EXTRA MONEY FROM PUBLIC THROUGH ONLINE. EITHER CHAIWALLA CANNOT BRING SUCH CHANGES BECAUSE HE IS NOT SUFFER WE THE MIDDLE CLASS PEOPLE ARE SUFFER, WE NEED TO RAISE THIS PROBLEM TO GOVT OR LODGE CASE AGANIST THEM.BUT WHO WILL LODGE COMPLIANT..THAT WAS ENDLESS QUESTION???? more

This happens regularly. Nothing new, no room then contact any broker and get as many as you need. You can understand how !!. I think it is well known to everyone. more

First & foremost, the Tatkal system & variable ticket pricing has to go away. In the name of earning more amounts they block these available seats and ultimately the train goes empty as the flights are becoming better option comparatively with cheaper/ equal amounts for the travel and tickets. It is not the squad or the ground level staff who can bring the change back to olden days. It is the strategy of the higher ups and the ministry which needs to get into the grassroots and resolve. more
